If you don't want to invest in a hardware IP phone then you can use a soft IP phone (a soft fone). Soft fones can be installed on a laptop or desktop computer and can then be used with a headset connected to the computer. To get started:
1 Download a soft fone
We recommend
X Lite

and
Zoiper

2 Install the soft fone on your computer
3 Add a headset (or use built in microphone and speaker if present)
4 Put in your Soho66 user details into the soft fone
Then you're ready to make and take calls!
Advantages
- No cost to have calls delivered to you
- Get access to all Soho66's features (call waiting, transfer, conference, music on hold, voicemail notifications etc.)
- Take advantage of Soho66's superb outbound call rates with UK landline calls at 1p per minute

- Your computer needs to be switched on to take calls

- Generally, we'd not recommend using a soft fone for any more than occasional use
